sabersaw posted : thanks for the explanation stonecolddsl. The scenarios described as above is 2 IRDs accessing 3 sat locations. That is what I am aiming for. Also, have heard that the converter boxes that allow legacy IRDs to use DP LNBs & switching go bad often, think I will try to stay away from those. Lets add HDTV into the mix now. Will I need any additional LNBs or will single IRDs to each of the 3 sat suffice? The Dayton Hamvention is coming up and will be able to lock onto some good deals as long as I know what I am buying.
Seems strange how they go odd-even transponders for each location on the LNBs. Why doesn't the switch multiplex the LNBs to allow two IRDS to be hooked up to 1 IRD. I mean if you can watch the same channel on 2 IRDs isn't it already doing that?
